Level 2: Marling with Double-knitting
This style of double-knitting was one of my earliest developments and is included in both of my books, but aside from an appearance in a previous version of my Texture in Double-knitting workshop, it has never made a proper workshop appearance until now. Marling is the act of working two yarns together; it can be done alongside double-knitting to add texture, stability, and the illusion of a third color. In this workshop, you'll learn the ins and outs of combining marled garter stitch with double-knitting colorwork.
What to bring: 2 distinct solid colors (1 light, 1 darker) of plain yarn in the DK to worsted weight range and a pair of straight or circular needles in the proper size.
What to know: You should be comfortable with modern (two colors at once) double-knitting from recent experience. You should also be comfortable following knitting charts.
What to do: Before arriving, please download the homework from https://double-knitting.com/marldkhw and follow the instructions.
NOTE: This workshop is also occasionally run in a 2-hour format at some of the virtual shows. There is no change to the description or the homework.
