A cowl in standard double-knitting

In 2013, I was invited to teach at the Knitting Boutique in Maryland as part of their “Famous Knitters” series. While I was there, the owner brought out a bag of yarn samples that were eventually to become their new house yarn line. I got to fondle them all and gravitated eventually to the yarn this piece is made from — a luxurious blend of Blueface Leicester wool and silk. You can get this yarn at their website.

I was asked to design something for them, to roll out as a promo for their new line, and happily I was able to dedicate some time to it as soon as 2014 rolled around.

This double-knitted cowl is loosely based on the iconic Barbara Walker “Twin Trees II” pattern from her third Treasury.

Nota bene: The price was set by the shop, who still sells it on their website. So as not to compete with them now that their term of exclusivity is over, I have kept their price intact. Yes, it is higher than I would normally charge for a pattern of this type. I hope you’ll consider it anyway.

Where can I get it?
