These policies apply to the BuildingBlox Virtual Workshops only; policies may be different if a workshop is hosted by someone else.
If you have a policy question about something not covered here, feel free to contact me.
- First and foremost, don’t get in over your head! Prerequisites are listed on each workshop page. If you are in doubt, please get in touch with me.
- Please make sure that my email address fallingblox (at) double-knitting (dot) com is in your address book to ensure that emails relating to these workshops do not end up in your spam folder.
- If you are unable to attend a workshop you are enrolled in, please inform me by replying to your confirmation email. If possible, I will refund your enrollment fee. There are no refunds if you do not show up or arrive late.
- Make sure you have the materials and tools you need, and do the homework before the workshop begins.
- The workshop’s Zoom meeting will be active at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the workshop. Please show up promptly; the workshop will need to go on with or without you. You will be welcome to jump in wherever we are when you arrive, and you will be able to go back later and watch anything you missed.
- If you arrive on time but have technical difficulties such that you are unable to take the workshop (and you are not interested in video access as a substitute for the workshop), please get in touch with me for a resolution.
- During the workshop, please remain muted unless you need to ask a question. If you ask a question, please re-mute yourself afterward. You may also ask questions via chat.
- Please do not share the handout or other workshop contents with anyone who did not enroll in the workshop.
- When you enroll in the workshop, you will receive a confirmation email from Fallingblox Designs with instructions on how to access the workshop page, which will include all info, homework, Zoom links, handouts, and (eventually) the workshop video.
- On the date and at the time of the workshop, I will appear promptly for the workshop, well-prepared and ready to teach. I will teach the material using the best skills and technology available to me.
- During the workshop, I will answer your questions to the best of my ability, with the understanding that the virtual platform presents some limitations to what I can offer.
- If you arrive late, I will try to help you catch up, but not to the detriment of my other students’ learning experiences.
- I will ensure that you have at least one scheduled break per 3-hour session.
- After the workshop, I will read the evaluation forms and do my best to incorporate constructive suggestions into future workshops.
- The workshop’s recording will be available to all who purchase access to it (whether or not they attended the workshop).
- If the recording is not available as promised, refunds or discounts will be offered to those who qualify.
- I strive not to cancel workshops, but events outside my control may require the occasional cancellation. Read my cancellation policy below for more info.
- Workshops are priced at or below market rate, but financial assistance is available on a case-by-case basis. If you need assistance, please get in touch with me and I’ll do my best to find an equitable solution for your situation.
- In general, workshops will not be cancelled for low enrollment; a workshop can still be recorded for later sale even if few or no students are present.
- If a workshop is cancelled for any other reason, it may be rescheduled or not.
- If the workshop is rescheduled, all enrolled students will be given the option of moving their enrollment to the new date and time, or accepting a refund. Nothing will change for those who preordered the recording.
- If the workshop is not rescheduled, all enrolled students and those who preordered the recording will receive a refund to their original form of payment.
