A Three-Color Double-Knit Shawl

WATERFORD CROSSING

Since Extreme Double-Knitting, I’ve honed my skills in multi-color double-knitting, and I thought it’d be a good idea to put them to use in my new book. The main thing I wanted to cover that I didn’t cover in the previous book is what happens when you work this technique flat rather than in the round.

I originally conceived this piece as a shawl/shawlette with an unusual stepped-triangle shape. When it was finished, I realized that it was a more flexible garment than merely a shawl. If you fold it right, you can make a fascinating collar that can be worn in concert with a long jacket for extra warmth and style!
