Virtual Workshop Policies
These apply to the BuildingBlox Virtual Workshops hosted directly by Fallingblox Designs. Policies may be subtly different if a workshop is hosted by a LYS or event. Please also look at the Virtual Workshop Prep page and the Cancellation Policy page.
What I Expect From You
First and foremost, don’t get in over your head! Prerequisites are listed on each workshop page. If you are in doubt, please take an Intro workshop first or get in touch with me.
When you have enrolled in a workshop, please read the Virtual Workshop Prep page. If you have any questions about it, get in touch.
Please make sure that my email address fallingblox (at) double-knitting (dot) com is in your address book to ensure that emails relating to these workshops do not end up in your Spam folder.
If you are unable to attend a workshop you are enrolled in and would prefer not to simply watch the video later, please reply to the confirmation email you received when you enrolled. If possible, I will refund your enrollment fee. There are no refunds for those who do not show up or arrive late.
Make sure you have the materials and tools you need, and do the homework before the workshop begins.
Do not share the Zoom link and handout with anyone except those for whom you have purchased tickets.
The Zoom meeting will be active at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the workshop. Please show up promptly; the workshop will need to go on with or without you. You will be welcome to jump in wherever we are when you arrive, and you will be able to go back and watch anything you missed later.
If you arrive on time but are unable to get the Zoom software or stream working so that you are able to take the workshop, and you are not interested in video access as a substitute for the workshop, please get in touch with me for a resolution.
During the workshop, please remain muted unless you need to ask a question. If you ask a question, please re-mute yourself afterward. You may also ask questions via chat.
Please do not share the video link with anyone outside the workshop.
What You Can Expect From Me
When you enroll in the workshop, you will receive a confirmation email from Fallingblox Designs with links to homework for your selected workshop, as well as links to other important resources.
Shortly before the workshop, I will send you an email with the handout in PDF format and the Zoom link.
I will appear promptly for the workshop, well-prepared and ready to teach. I will teach the material using the best skills and technology available to me.
I will answer your questions to the best of my ability, with the understanding that the virtual platform presents some limitations to what I can offer.
If you arrive late, I will try to help you catch up but not to the detriment of my other students’ learning experiences.
I will ensure that you have at least one scheduled break during the workshop.
After the workshop, I will send you one more email to remind you to fill out the evaluation form.
I will read the evaluation forms and do my best to incorporate constructive suggestions into future workshops.
Workshops will be recorded and the recordings made available to all who enrolled, whether or not they were able to attend.
If something goes wrong and the recording is not available as promised, refunds may be available for those who qualify.
I may choose to cancel a workshop if enrollment is insufficient, or some other emergency or event outside my control interferes with the timing. Read my cancellation policy for more info.
As usual, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I will update this policy page and the prep page as deficiencies are identified.
Thank you!
